Gilgit, November 18, 2024 – For the first time in Pakistan, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) has launched a comprehensive program to develop Occupational Profiles and Competency Standards at the Center of Excellence (Polytechnic Institute) Gilgit. This five-day session, running from November 18 to 22, focuses on Digital Marketing and eCommerce, introducing specialized modules such as Digital Marketing & SEO, Digital Content Creation, Small Business Accounting, eCommerce Store Management, and eCommerce for Farm Product Marketing. Experts from the industry and TEVTAs of GB,KPK, Punjab, Federal, and Balochistan are actively participating in the session, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise.

Today, Secretary Higher, Technical & Special Education (HT&SE) Mr. Farid Ahmad visited the session to observe the training activities. During his visit, he also held a strategic meeting with a delegation from the British Council, led by Dr. Nasir and Hafiz Abbasi, to finalize interventions for the establishment of three additional Centers of Excellence Spokes in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Secretary Farid Ahmad accompanied by Director Technical & Special Education Mr. Owais Ahmad, also interacted with participants of the training and entrepreneurship sessions at the institute. They engaged in detailed conversations, gathering feedback on the program’s impact and effectiveness.

Deputy Director TESD GB, Engr. Asim Ali, provided a comprehensive briefing to the visiting officials and British Council delegation on the ongoing activities, highlighting the institute’s achievements and its role in advancing skill development in the region.

This initiative is a significant step toward empowering youth with modern skills, fostering entrepreneurship, and enhancing employability in Gilgit-Baltistan. The program aligns with our department’s commitment to improving technical education and skill development across GB.
