آج گورنمنٹ ووکیشنل اینڈ ٹیکنیکل ٹریننگ سنٹر (GVTTC) گلگت اور گورنمنٹ پولی ٹیکنیک کالج گلگت میں ایک اہم تربیتی اور آگاہی تقریب کا انعقاد کیا گیا، جس میں ریسکیو 1122 گلگت بلتستان اور موٹروے پولیس گلگت بلتستان کے نمائندگان نے خصوصی شرکت کی۔ اس تقریب کا مقصد طلباء کو روزمرہ زندگی میں پیش آنے والے ہنگامی حالات جیسے زخمی ہونے، ہڈی ٹوٹنے، یا آگ لگنے کی صورت میں فوری حفاظتی تدابیر اور ابتدائی طبی امداد کی اہمیت سے آگاہ کرنا تھا۔

تقریب کے دوران ریسکیو 1122 کے تربیتی عملے نے ابتدائی طبی امداد، فریکچر کی صورت میں ابتدائی طبی امداد، اور آگ بجھانے کی عملی مشقیں پیش کیں۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ موٹروے پولیس گلگت بلتستان نے طلباء کو روڈ سیفٹی، ٹریفک قوانین کی پابندی اور حادثات سے بچاؤ کے عملی طریقوں پر جامع لیکچر دیا۔”

ریسکیو 1122 کے ایمرجنسی آفیسر، جناب طاہر شاہ نے بھی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا:
“ہمارا مشن نہ صرف ایمرجنسی صورتحال میں مدد فراہم کرنا ہے بلکہ معاشرے میں تحفظ اور احتیاطی تدابیر کا شعور اجاگر کرنا بھی ہے۔ طلباء کے لیے یہ تربیت نہایت اہم ہے تاکہ وہ کسی بھی ہنگامی صورتحال کا اعتماد سے سامنا کر سکیں۔ ریسکیو 1122 ہمیشہ ان کی مدد کے لیے تیار ہے۔”

علاوہ ازیں، 28 اپریل کو عالمی یومِ تحفظ (World Safety Day) کی مناسبت سے GVTTC اور گورنمنٹ پولی ٹیکنیک کالج گلگت میں ایک واک کا بھی اہتمام کیا گیا، جس میں ریسکیو 1122، موٹروے پولیس کے افسران، کالج کے طلباء، اساتذہ اور دیگر معزز مہمانوں نے بھرپور شرکت کی۔ واک کا مقصد حفاظتی تدابیر کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرنا اور معاشرے میں محفوظ طرزِ زندگی کو فروغ دینا تھا۔

Gilgit, Government Polytechnic Institute Chilmish Das, Gilgit, celebrated Plantation Day with enthusiasm, reinforcing its commitment to a greener environment. The event was attended by Honorable Mr. Farid Ahmad the Secretary Higher, Technical, and Special Education GB, Mr. Owais Ahmad Director Technical & Special Education GB, Engr. Asim Ali Deputy Director TESD , GIZ representatives, faculty, and students.

As part of the Green Campus initiative, all Officials and students actively participated in tree planting to promote environmental awareness. The Secretary HT&SE Mr. Farid Ahmad highlighted the role of educational institutions in fostering sustainability and encouraged students to maintain the trees.

Students enthusiastically took part in the plantation drive, concluding the event with a pledge to continue eco-friendly efforts. This initiative underscores the shared responsibility of institutions and Officials in promoting sustainable practices for a better future.

Peshawar, – Mr. Farid Ahmed, Secretary Higher, Technical, and Special Education Gilgit-Baltistan, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Center of Excellence in IT for Women for KP and GB, held at IM Sciences Peshawar.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister KP for Industries, Her Excellency Dr. Riina Kionka, Ambassador of the EU Mission for Pakistan, Secretary Higher Education KP, and other notable dignitaries from KP.

This EU-funded project, aimed at fostering digital empowerment, will be executed by the British Council in collaboration with the Higher, Technical, and Special Education Department GB. Under this initiative, three Center of Excellence Spokes will be established in Gilgit-Baltistan:

1.Polytechnic Institute Skardu

2.KIU Gilgit

3.GVTTC Diamer

The project will equip 1,500 youth from KP and GB with advanced and demand-driven digital and high-tech IT skills, with a special focus on empowering women.

This initiative marks a significant step toward fostering digital transformation, enhancing employability, and strengthening the technical education ecosystem in the region.

We were honored to welcome the Deputy Director of Technical and Vocational Education and Training to BinaryHub, where they had a productive meeting with our Chairman. During the visit, they appreciated our organization’s significant contributions to advancing IT and technology in the region. آج مورخہ 24 دسمبر کو گورنمنٹ پولی ٹیکنک انسٹیٹیوٹ گلگت میں لیپ ٹاپس تقسیم کرنے کے حوالے سے ایک پروقار تقریب کا انعقاد ہوا۔ یہ لیپ ٹاپس نیشنل ووکیشنل اینڈ ٹیکنیکل ٹریننگ کمیشن (NAVTTC) گورنمنٹ آف پاکستان کی چیئرپرسن محترمہ گل مینہ بلال احمد کی خصوصی کاوشوں کے تحت ای-کامرس اور ایمازون کورسز کے تربیت یافتہ نوجوانوں کو دیے گئے، جنہوں نے اپنی تربیت مکمل کر کے اپنا کاروبار اور آن لائن بزنس شروع کیا ہوا ہے اور اپنے ذرائع آمدن میں زبردست اضافہ کر رہے ہیں۔ واضح رہے کہ شارٹ کورسز میں کامیاب ہونے والے طلبہ میں پورے پاکستان میں پہلی مرتبہ لیپ ٹاپس گلگت بلتستان میں تقسیم کیے گئے۔ جسے ہر سطح پر سراہا جا رہا ہے۔

تقریب کے مہمانِ خصوصی چیف سیکریٹری گلگت بلتستان ابرار احمد مرزا تھے۔ ایڈیشنل چیف سیکریٹری (ڈویلپمنٹ) گلگت بلتستان کیپٹن (ریٹائرڈ) مشتاق احمد اور ہوم سیکریٹری گلگت بلتستان سید اصغر بھی معزز مہمانوں میں شامل تھے۔ تقریب کا آغاز ڈپارٹمنٹ کی جانب سے پیش کردہ پریزینٹیشن سے ہوا جس میں اب تک کی کارکردگی اور اصلاحات پر روشنی ڈالی گئی۔ سیکریٹری ڈپارٹمنٹ آف ہائیر، ٹیکنیکل اینڈ اسپیشل ایجوکیشن گلگت بلتستان فرید احمد نے تمام معزز مہمانوں اور شرکاء کا استقبال کیا اور محکمہء ہذٰا کی موجودہ سرگرمیوں پر تفصیلی روشنی ڈالی۔ انہوں نے یورپی یونین اور برٹش کونسل کے تعاون سے علاقے کے نوجوانوں کے وسیع تر مفاد میں شروع کی جانے والی مستقبل کی سرگرمیوں کا بھی ذکر کیا۔ سیکریٹری فرید احمد نے مزید کہا کہ گلگت بلتستان میں پہلی مرتبہ سرکاری سطح پر گلگت بلتستان کے پولی ٹیکنیک انسٹیٹیوٹس میں سول، الیکٹریکل اور آئی ٹی کے مضامین میں تین سالہ DAE کی کلاسز شروع کی گئیں ہیں۔ اور اگلے سال سے مذید دو اہم مضامین ٹورازم اینڈ ہاسپیٹیلٹی منیجمنٹ اور جی آئی ایس مائننگ میں DAE کی کلاسز شروع کی جائیں گی۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ٹورازم اینڈ ہاسپیٹیلٹی منیجمنٹ میں DAE پورے پاکستان میں اپنی نوعیت کا پہلا پروگرام ہو گا۔

تقریب کے دوران فرید احمد نے بتایا کہ محکمہء ہائیر اینڈ ٹیکنیکل ایجوکیشن گلگت بلتستان کے ماتحت چلنے والے تمام ٹیکنیکل ادارے اب ماڈل انسٹیٹیوٹ کے طور پر کام کر رہے ہیں اور گورنمنٹ ٹیکنیکل اینڈ ووکیشنل ٹریننگ سنٹر گلگت کو NAVTTC کی جانب سے سینٹر آف ایکسیلینس (CoE) قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ برٹش کونسل کے مالی تعاون سے گلگت بلتستان کے تمام تین ڈویژنز کے لیے مزید ایک سنٹر آف ایکسیلینس(CoE) کے قیام کی بھی منظوری دی جا چکی ہے۔ جس پر کام کا آغاز ہو چکا ہے۔ ان تمام اقدامات سے گلگت بلتستان میں ٹیکنیکل ایجوکیشن میں بہت بڑی تبدیلی اور کامیابی حاصل ہو سکے گی اور روزگار اور آمدن کے لیے بہترین راہ ہموار ہو گی۔

ریجنل ڈائریکٹر NAVTTC ذیشان علی نے علاقے میں ادارے کی سرگرمیوں پر روشنی ڈالتے ہوئے نوجوانوں اور جی بی گورنمنٹ کو مستقبل میں بھی مکمل تعاون کی یقین دہانی کرائی۔

تقریب کے مہمانِ خصوصی چیف سیکریٹری جی بی ابرار احمد مرزا نے تمام ڈونرز بالخصوص محترمہ گل مینہ بلال احمد کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور کامیاب تربیت یافتہ طلبہ و طالبات کو مبارکباد پیش کی جنہیں لیپ ٹاپس دیے گئے۔ انہوں نے تربیت مکمل کرنے والے طلبہ و طالبات سے ان کے تجربات اور مسائل پر گفتگو کی اور جی بی حکومت کی طرف سے فراہم کی جانے والی معاونت کے متعلق تبادلہء خیال کیا۔

چیف سیکریٹری نے پلاننگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ ڈیپارٹمنٹ گلگت پریس کو ہدایت دی کہ وہ ان تربیت یافتہ نوجوانوں کے لیے چھوٹے اور درمیانے درجے کے کاروبار کے لیے کم سود پر قرضے فراہم کرنے کا ایک مؤثر نظام تیار کریں تاکہ وہ اپنے کاروبار کو مزید فروغ دے سکیں۔ اس کے علاوہ، انہوں نے گلگت شہر کے مرکزی علاقے میں ایک اور گورنمنٹ ووکیشنل اینڈ ٹیکنیکل ٹریننگ سینٹر کھولنے کی بھی ہدایت کی تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ نوجوانوں کو ہنر کی تربیت دی جا سکے اور وہ ایک کامیاب اور باوقار کیریئر کے ذریعے ترقی و خوشحالی کی شاہراہ پر گامزن ہو سکیں۔

تقریب کے اختتام پر چیف سیکریٹری اور معزز مہمانوں نے کامیاب اور ہونہار طلبہ میں لیپ ٹاپس تقسیم کیے اور معزز مہمانوں کو جی آئی زیڈ (GIZ) کی طرف سے تحائف پیش کیے گئے۔

A meeting was held on 20th December 2024 in the office of the Secretary, Higher, Technical & Special Education (HT&SE), Gilgit-Baltistan, to discuss the survey on the demand and supply of skilled manpower in the region, in compliance with the directives of the Honorable Prime Minister. The meeting, chaired by Mr. Farid Ahmad, Secretary HT&SE, was attended by Mr. Riaz Ahmad, Secretary IT, Additional Secretary Social Welfare and Women Development, Deputy Secretary Tourism, Deputy Secretary Industries, Mr. Atif Mehmood, Program Component Manager from GIZ, other members of the GIZ TVET Sector Support Program, Director Technical Education GB, Director NAVTTC GB, Deputy Director Technical Education GB and Deputy Director Coordination HT&SE.
In his opening remarks, the Secretary HT&SE welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of aligning workforce development strategies with the market demands of Gilgit-Baltistan. He highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to conduct a comprehensive survey, which would address the region’s workforce challenges and contribute to equitable growth.
Mr. Atif Mehmood from GIZ presented the EU and BMZ-supported program for KP, GB, and Balochistan, covering key initiatives such as the National Vocational Qualifications Framework (NVQF), the National Skills Information System (NSIS), and the draft National Skills Strategy for Pakistan. The GIZ team also introduced the National Vocational Qualification System (NVQS) Portal, a digital platform designed to centralize TVET data and align policies with market requirements.
Discussions focused on the survey’s objectives, including assessing market needs, addressing skill gaps, and promoting equitable opportunities for workforce development. Stakeholders stressed the inclusion of underrepresented sectors such as tourism, IT, women entrepreneurship, and local crafts, alongside integrating modern technology and capacity building to align with national and global trends. Key activities under the GIZ TVET program were reviewed, including digitalizing key processes, training personnel in evidence-based TVET management, and supporting international accreditation. Targets included drafting four TVET plans, generating 40 data-driven recommendations, training 300 TVET personnel, and affiliating 10 institutes with international accreditation bodies.
The Secretary HT&SE assured full support for the successful execution of the survey. Departments pledged to provide necessary data and resources, while GIZ committed to providing a detailed framework and methodology, including timelines and reporting formats. The Technical Education Department was tasked with identifying key sectors and trades for workforce development. NAVTTC and other TVET stakeholders agreed to align the survey findings with the NVQF and NSIS frameworks.
The meeting concluded with the Chairperson thanking the GIZ delegation and all participants for their proactive contributions. He reaffirmed the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure the survey’s success, which will serve as a foundation for effective skill development strategies in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Gilgit, November 18, 2024 – For the first time in Pakistan, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) has launched a comprehensive program to develop Occupational Profiles and Competency Standards at the Center of Excellence (Polytechnic Institute) Gilgit. This five-day session, running from November 18 to 22, focuses on Digital Marketing and eCommerce, introducing specialized modules such as Digital Marketing & SEO, Digital Content Creation, Small Business Accounting, eCommerce Store Management, and eCommerce for Farm Product Marketing. Experts from the industry and TEVTAs of GB,KPK, Punjab, Federal, and Balochistan are actively participating in the session, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise.

Today, Secretary Higher, Technical & Special Education (HT&SE) Mr. Farid Ahmad visited the session to observe the training activities. During his visit, he also held a strategic meeting with a delegation from the British Council, led by Dr. Nasir and Hafiz Abbasi, to finalize interventions for the establishment of three additional Centers of Excellence Spokes in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Secretary Farid Ahmad accompanied by Director Technical & Special Education Mr. Owais Ahmad, also interacted with participants of the training and entrepreneurship sessions at the institute. They engaged in detailed conversations, gathering feedback on the program’s impact and effectiveness.

Deputy Director TESD GB, Engr. Asim Ali, provided a comprehensive briefing to the visiting officials and British Council delegation on the ongoing activities, highlighting the institute’s achievements and its role in advancing skill development in the region.

اس موقع پر ڈائریکٹر ٹیکنیکل اینڈ سپیشل ایجوکیشن اویس احمد اور ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر ٹیکنیکل ایجوکیشن انجنئیر عاصم عبادی کی جانب سے گلگت بلتستان میں پہلی دفعہ شروع ہونے والے ڈپلومہ پروگرامز کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ محترم سیکریٹری صاحب نے تمام طلبا و طالبات سے کورسسز کے معیار اور تمام دستیاب سہولیات کے بارے میں گفتگو بھی کی۔ طلبا و طالبات کی جانب سے گھر کی دہلیز پر پہلی بار انجینئرنگ اور آئی ٹی ڈپلومہ پروگرامز کی فراہمی کا شکریہ ادا کیا گیا۔ اس سے پہلے نوجوانوں کو ان پروگرامز کے لیے ملک کے دوسرے شہروں کی جانب سفر کرنا پڑتا تھا جس میں بہت زیادہ مالی وسائل خرچ ہوتے تھے تاہم اب یہ سہولت سیکریٹری فرید احمد کی نگرانی میں محکمہ ٹیکنیکل ایجوکیشن کی جانب سے گلگت بلتستان میں ہی شروع کردی گئی ہے۔ محترم سیکریٹری صاحب کی خصوصی ہدایات پر بننے والی نئی لائبریری کا بھی دورہ کیا گیا۔ مذکورہ کالج پہلے ہی Center of Excellence کے کیے منتخب ہوچکا ہے اور مستقبل میں یورپی یونین کے تعاون سے اس میں مزید جدت لائی جائے گی۔

*One-Day Capacity Development Needs Assessment for TVET Institute Management Personnel in Gilgit-Baltistan Successfully Conducted*

Gilgit, 27th September 2024 – The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), with support from Team Europe’s TVET Sector Support Program, successfully organized a one-day Capacity Development Needs Assessment for TVET Institute Management Personnel from the Gilgit-Baltistan region. The event was held at the Government Vocational and Technical Training Center (CoE) Gilgit.

The needs assessment, focused on enhancing the management capacity of TVET institutions, saw active participation from Heads of TVET Institutes from the Gilgit-Baltistan region, who contributed to the identification of key training requirements to improve organizational and gender-sensitive management practices in line with labor market demands.

Notable attendees included Director NAVTTC, Regional Office Gilgit-Baltistan, and Dy. Director Technical Education and Skills Development, Gilgit-Baltistan, both of whom highlighted the importance of capacity building for the sustainable growth of TVET in the region.
